To make your cyber work environment safe, Here are few good practices.

  1. Keep your Antivirus signature database up-to-date.
  2. Frequently Patch up your Operating System with latest updates.
  3. Do not add users to Local Administrator Group permanently unless required.
  4. Restrict users from Installing or Running unknown software.
  5. Ensure the use of strong password environment and change them frequently.
  6. Routinely backup your data.
  7. Stay cautious when opening e-mail attachments, even if you are expecting it and sender is known or trusted.
  8. Use a firewall to block unsolicited connection requests.
  9. Disable unnecessary services running in the background.
  10. Verify suspicious email attachments header with their extension name.
  11. Restrict access to websites with unfavorable content.
  12. Do not grant access to untrusted unsafe devices into safe work network(e.g Iot devices, personal/guest devices)
  13. When using removable media (e.g., USB thumb drives, external drives, CDs, etc.) stay cautious .
  14. Do not run software downloaded from internet unless properly scanned
